The Street Angels initiative has grown and grown to over 125 different locations ranging even to Spain but generally confined to the UK. Its volunteers typically go out in groups of 4-6 on a Friday and/or Saturday night from about 10pm until 3am or even later in all weathers. They go out to serve others: water to rehydrate revellers, provide flip flops to stop ladies feet from getting hurt from broken glass, space blankets to keep people warm whilst waiting for a taxi, and possibly most important, a listening ear and a loving heart. Together with Street Pastors they openly welcome all. This is the Church reaching out to show that it does indeed love all. Here's their February newsletter and our mention in that edition |
