Excuse me? What century are we in now?
The US appears to be imploding as so many states are now introducing 'bathroom' bills to prevent human beings use the bathroom as their gender dictates. We have news channels (ok Fox News) coming up with this scaremongering news discussion where "one thing can lead to another"...

The discussion above went like this:
PETE HEGSETH (CO-HOST): There's a lot of backlash that continues around North Carolina state bathroom laws. We've heard about this transgender use of bathrooms. There's been a back and forth -- of course has trickled into the presidential level as the candidates on the Republican side have been, I don't know if they are weighing in or being dragged into this, but it's a conversation ongoing.
[...]
AINSLEY EARHARDT (CO-HOST): The only concern for me is what this could lead to. Could a grown adult man dress up as a woman who wants to get in the little girls' bathroom? And my little girl is in that bathroom by herself and this grown man who has other intentions, bad intentions, dresses up like a girl and goes in the bathroom. Because one thing can lead to another. You give them an inch, take a mile kind of thing.
We have had Presidential hopefuls Trump and Cruz making comments such as:

We have had Presidential hopefuls Trump and Cruz making comments such as:
Trump: "There had been very few complaints the way it is," Trump said on NBC's Today show. "People go — they use the bathroom that they feel is appropriate. There has been so little trouble."... and
Cruz: "He thought that men should be able to go into the girls' bathrooms if they want to," Cruz said. "Grown adult men — strangers— should not be alone in a bathroom with little girls. And that's not conservative. That's not Republican or Democrat. That's basic common sense."
What is missing is a little understanding. These #transgender women are actually women. They aren't men dressed up as women. Transgender women are not sexual predators but several states are suggesting that this is a problem but:
There are zero reported cases of this happening.
As this website contends the situation is not as portrayed and this is scaremongering, leading to individuals being discriminated against and the number of transgender people seeking mental health counselling is already increasing (especially in the states which have such proposals). Currently, six U.S. states — Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Massachusetts — are considering, or have recently passed, “bathroom bills” that make it illegal for transgender Americans to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with.
Just what are we doing in 2016?
Why are we worried as parents of a transgender child in the UK? Well:
Just what are we doing in 2016?
Why are we worried as parents of a transgender child in the UK? Well:
- We care about all transgender people, and especially those whose parents are struggling to cope with them being LGBTQ.
- We don't want such heathen rulings to translate to laws over here.
The Governors of Kansas, Mississippi, North Carolina, Illinois, and Massachusetts (amongst others) need to examine exactly what they are proposing, why they are suggesting such draconian discriminatory action and to confirm that they are in the 21st Century and not back in the 1800s.
