Actually it's the most upbeat encouraging conversation I think I have ever had the privilege to witness! Everyone supports each other!
- YES is the answer to both questions!
We discuss whether companies are probably content with transgender people coming for jobs and, with our experience now in the group, we can tell our own stories, of our children and their success.
We talk of how to legally complete a deed poll, so that a name change can take place, to affirm the individual. We discuss how the passport agency has been so positive as well as the banks when we speak with them in person. But we would still would like the banks to offer Mx as a pronoun please.
We talk about the different clothes now needed when a child does now identify as the person they were always meant to be. How does someone, initially identifying, for example as male, progressively change the clothes so that they can dress accordingly? How can we as parents support them without interfering!
We talk of how supportive the schools are in our area. How they are welcoming and willing to adapt to meet the needs of every child, including ours, regardless whether they be LGB or T.
We talk of the groups like Just Lincolnshire and Uncle Henry's and how supportive they are to our group and to LGBT in general.
We also listen and support each other as, occasionally, it can get all too much and we need that support. This is where the secret Facebook group, the private messages, the emails and the telephone calls - as well as these meetings - help so much.
If you are a parent of a child who identifies, or thinks that their child may identify, as LGBT and feel that you might wish to have this support,
